Sexual Wholeness Program Mission
Hello from Michelle,
For the past ten years I have refined and modified my work and environment, in an effort to feed and nurture my spirit as well as facilitate for my clients highest good. I have found it necessary to pursue a highly educated position on sex and it's role in the massage world.
In an effort to protect myself from the constant onslaught of sexual propositions when I first started in massage therapy I developed my work into the form it now takes. My desire was to offer a safe, compassionate space for the men and women that were struggling to find connection. Their misguided attempts to buy pleasure and loving connection served as my motivation to create a better way. I choose to take, head on, these needs of this marginalized, shamed, legally curtailed under-served segment of the culture in a pro-positive way.
I have created a sacred space for other women that are born to be in the role of sexual teacher/healer/initiator/catalyst for change/inspired muses to have a safe place to grow, experiment and practice, practice, practice. They provide a context of compassion and wisdom in exchange for provision in this emotionally, spiritually safe space.
To borrow the words of Ray Stubs,
"They are teachers of the heart. They
are visionaries, stepping outside of constrictive, traditional beliefs about men
and women. their bodies are their temples, to which they invite others. their
purpose is to support a deeper discovery of the spiritual flame that burns
within us all. "
Sexual Energy is Life Energy.
so beautifully put by author Ray Stubbs in his ground breaking book, Women of the Light: the New Sexual Healers
"..her presence quickly communicated that her sexuality was not a commodity
used simply to titillate or to manipulate. Nor was her sexuality to be owned by
others. As she had intimated in her writings, sexuality was a path where she was
discovering her potential, her wholeness."
... you describe me and what I write on this site so well...
"Massage is intimate, no matter how therapeutic the
technique name may sound, no matter how many sheets drape a client's supposed
modesty. In a really good massage, it would be quite possible for either the
giver or the receiver to experience a variety of basic human feelings, including
sexual ones. Yet, in the massage profession, "down there" is regarded as the
caste of untouchables. The psychological denial of sexuality and genitals might
be far more obvious were it not for the pervasive sexual
repression/suppression/oppression throughout our.... cultures.
Sooner or later, doing professional massage, one has to come
to terms with sexual energy or burn out and quit the profession.
Most just dig
their sexual repression trenches deeper. A few quietly choose to include genital
massage when they feel it is appropriate. A few feel sexual massage is not for
them personally to give but compassionately support the client in finding
alternatives.
Eventually, rather than denouncing sexuality, I came to
terms with the issues by .. accepting and nurturing all parts of the
physical-emotional body" - Ray Stubbs author Woman of the Light -
